On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Singapore (1973-2023), Vietnam became the Country of Focus (COF) of the 14th Asian Festival of Children’s Content (AFCC) held in Singapore on May 25-27.

Kim Dong Publishing House and 10 other Vietnamese publishing companies have participated in many activities to introduce authors and works within the framework of the AFCC.

The events in the programme "Country of Focus: Vietnam" are an opportunity to introduce outstanding Vietnamese children's literature publications as well as to promote Vietnamese culture to the world.

Within the framework of the AFCC, many images of Kim Dong’s books were selected by the organising committee as the theme images for the AFCC. In particular, the image of De Men, which is familiar to many generations of Vietnamese children, was selected by the organising board for visitors, especially children, to scan QR codes to see virtual reality images.

Participants have the chance to meet the best of Vietnam’s children's book writers and illustrators at the Country of Focus showcase.

Participants will learn about the current publishing developments and trends, as well as the challenges and opportunities.

Vietnamese publishing houses participate in the event.

On the final day of the COF Vietnam programmes, the creators of three Vietnamese children’s books, Finding Mommy Elephant, The Call of the Wild, and My Daddy is a Runner, will share about their inspirations in the process of creating stories and also offer practical advice on the diverse range of interactive activities that parents and children can engage in.

The programmes conclude with COF Vietnam Night which celebrates the partnership between Vietnam and Singapore with performances and the launch of translated children's books.
