Vietnamese and ROK singers join music video to cheer on frontline workers in COVID-19 fight
Popular singers and bands from Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (ROK) have joined a music video (MV) entitled ‘Way back home’, which was produced by the Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) to honour frontline workers in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam.
‘Way back home’ was originally composed and performed by ROK singer Shaun and the lyrics of the Vietnamese version of the song were written by Vietnamese musician Chau Dang Khoa.
The MV features the voices of Vietnamese and ROK pop singers, including Ho Ngoc Ha, Dong Nhi, Ong Cao Thang, Han Sara, Uni5, LipB, Bui Anh Tuan, Song Tuan, Sofia, and Shaun, among others.
It was released as part of the 2021 Korea Love Box campaign to support Vietnamese healthcare staff and other frontline forces in the COVID-19 fight, which the KTO has been implementing in Vietnam since October 2021 with the message 'Give love, give strength'.
The MV recorded the implementation of the campaign as well the efforts and dedication of Vietnamese doctors, nurses and medical staff working at COVID-19 treatment hospitals.
Park Jong Sun, Chief Representative of KTO in Vietnam, expressed his hope that the song will motivate and encourage the frontline forces of Vietnam to battle it out with the COVID-19 pandemic and soon return home to reunite with their families.
Previously, more than 1,000 gifts worth over VND1 billion (about US$44,000) were donated to six hospitals in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on October 12 within the framework of the 2021 Korea Love Box campaign.
