According to VCA Chairwoman Cao Xuan Thu Van, thousands of cooperatives have been operating effectively in recent years, bringing benefits to both their members and the community while also contributing to the country’s socio-economic development.

She said the Cooperative Star awards are designed to honour the cooperative community’s self-reliance, hard work, creativity, and efforts to overcome difficulties for the development of the collective economy.

Van added that the 100 honoured cooperatives, which were selected from over 31,000 cooperatives nationwide, will continue to be the leaders in effectively implementing cooperative development movements.

Speaking at the event, Deputy PM Le Minh Khai praised the efforts and achievements of the cooperatives, noting that public awareness on the role of cooperatives has been enhanced.

He took the occasion to urge cooperatives to actively adopt to external changes, transform their mindset and actions, and employ advanced technology to increase the number and quality of their members.

The Deputy PM also affirmed that the government would continue to accompany cooperatives and introduce conducive policies to facilitate the rapid and sustainable development of cooperatives.
