Vietnam cultural week in Italy

Numerous activities are taking place during the Vietnam cultural week in Rome (Italy) on January 12th - 26th.

The week opened with an exhibition introducing Vietnam’s distinguished traditional values, such as the Gong in the Central Highlands, brocade, pottery, handicrafts products, traditional long dress and traditional musical instruments such as monochord, two-string Chinese violin and T’rung (traditional bamboo xylophone).

During the exhibition, the participant also has opportunity to learn about the life of local people and 10 famous tourism destinations of Vietnam such as Mekong river, Ha Long bay, Phong Nha-Ke Bang caves, My Son sanctuary and Hoi An ancient town.

Visitors can enjoy traditional music performances by artists from the Vietnam National Academy of Music and taste traditional Vietnamese dishes.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director of the Department of International Cooperation, under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Cultural Week in Rome is part of cultural activities to promote the land and people of Vietnam towards the world fair EXPO 2015, which will be held in Milan in May.

During the event, workshops to promote tourism, economic and cinema cooperation between Vietnam and Italy will be held.
