Viet Nam temporarily closes airspace to Boeing 737 Max aircraft

Viet Nam’s Civil Aviation Authority has announced it temporarily banned Boeing 737 Max 8 flights in its airspace after a meeting this morning.

The ban, which took effect since 10 a.m. Wednesday, aims to ensure aviation safety following Ethiopian Airlines crash last Sunday.

Over the past days, several countries and airlines have grounded their Boeing 737 Max 8 planes over safety concerns.

In less than six months, this aircraft model has crashed soon after takeoff.
