Viet Nam plans to buy COVID-19 vaccine for adolescents aged 12-18
Viet Nam has asked Australia to use part of the latter’s AUD 40 million aid to purchase Pfizer vaccine for adolescents aged from 12-18.
The request was made by Vietnamese Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long at a working session with Australian Ambassador to Viet Nam Mobyn Mudie on June 8.
Nguyen also asked the Australian side to increase vaccine supply to Viet Nam.
The Australian Government has actively deployed measures to provide more vaccines to Viet Nam, said Mudie, hoping that Australia could offer direct vaccine supply to the Southeast Asian country within the next six months.
The same day Nguyen had separate working sessions with French and Swiss Ambassadors to Viet Nam, during which both sides discussed on COVID-19 vaccine supply and technology transfer.
Nguyen took the occasion to thank the three nations for supporting Viet Nam in the COVID-19 fight, including their commitments to donate vaccines to the COVAX Facility through which Viet Nam is a beneficiary country.
