Video conference on Covid-19 prevention and control

On February 14, Deputy Prime Minister cum Head of the National Steering Committee for Prevention and Control of Covid - 19 chaired a video conference with the steering boards of 25 border provinces.

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister cum Head of the National Steering Committee for Covenant Prevention and Combating Covid-19, Vu Duc Dam, emphasized that information on Covid epidemic - 19 must be timely updated to the public.

Regarding students’ return to school after the 2 weeks off due to the Covid-19 outbreak, he stressed that the local governments and schools will be allowed to re-open if hygienic measures are ensured to welcome students back.

He also focused that students’ health must be placed with much attention despite disturbances and obstacles for the Education and Training sector due to students’ continuing absence at the schools. Therefore, localities need to prioritize to prevent and combat the further spread of the Covid-19 epidemic until it disappears.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Xuan Ky, in turn, made a brief report on Quang Ninh’s active involvement in the Cocid-19 prevention and control while ensuring the socio-economic development tasks and preparations for the Party’s Congress at all levels. So far, all activities are been maintained and the province has not recorded any infection cases.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam highly appreciated the active involvement and great efforts of localities nationwide in the Covid-19 prevention and fighting. He requested that propaganda on the Covid-19 epidemic need to be enhanced in order to raise the people’s awareness of the epidemic.
