Van Don welcomes nearly 200,000 tourist arrivals during Tet

Van Don district saw an increase in the number of tourist arrivals during Tet holiday thanks to its favorable weather conditions.

According to statistics released by the district’s Culture and Information Division, Van Don greeted approximately 200,000 tourist arrivals during the nine-day Tet holiday from Feb. 2 - 10 (or from the 28th day of last lunar month of 2018 to the 6th day of the first month of the new lunar year).

A number of attractive sites include Cap Tien temple (about 22,000 arrivals), Cai Bau pagoda (60,000 arrivals) and Quan Lan island commune (roughly 2,000 arrivals).

In order to enhance the positive image of Van Don tourism, ensure security and order and guarantee the safety of travellers, Van Don district asked the management boards of local relic sites, tourism areas and attractions to pay great attention to the issues of social order so that no illegal activities such as gambling, robbery, etc. can occur at these places.
