So as to ensure the safety and leave visitors with distinct impression during the season of Yen Tu festival, Uong Bi city has paid much attention to market control.
The city asked the market management team and relevant units to adopt effective solutions to fight against lawbreakers who trade counterfeit and low-quality goods, control the sources of distributing products, check the announcement of product prices, continually update the list of individuals and organizations undertaking commercial activities, etc.
The market management team has also worked closely with other local functional agencies to raise public awareness of laws concerning producing and trading activities, mineral exploitation, the process and commerce of forest products. They have also given harsh punishment to those involved in the illegal transportation of natural resources, forest products, counterfeit goods and the commerce of forbidden and counterfeit goods and unsafe food.
Companies and households engaging in trading activities have received much support from authorities in performing their own operation in line with regulations and laws. Some also assist functional agencies in reporting illegal commercial activities undergoing in their areas.
In the first two months of this year, the city’s market was properly controlled. 40 illegal cases and 38 lawbreakers were strictly punished. The total amount of penalty money reached VND 110 million.
According to Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Uong Bi, the city, in the coming time, will continue to impose practical measures for successfully managing the market, contributing to protecting the rights of producers and customers as well as leaving tourists with convincing impression when they visit the locality.
