Being one of the four key tourism centers of Quang Ninh, Uong Bi city is much focusing on tourism promotion, and intensitying propaganda activities to the locals, raising their awareness and pride of being the host of many events during the 2018 National Tourism Year.
Responding to the 2018 National Tourism Year, Uong Bi city will host 9 ramarkable events which are scheduled to take place from Feb. to the end of Dec., 2018. Of which, the highlight is the organisation of the 2018 Japanese Cherry and Yen Tu Yellow Apricot blossom festival in the city for the first time.
In addition, the 2018 Yen Tu Spring festival will be held at the same time of the opening of the Yen Tu center for Culture, Festivals and Tourism Services, which is invested with nearly VND 1,000 billion on an area of 15 hectares. This is the first event among a series of activities responding to the 2018 National Tourism Year in Uong Bi city.
Besides Yen Tu National Historic Relic, Uong Bi is also the home to a number of large and small temples and pagodas whose festivals will kick off in March. With the aim of connecting tourism destinations and festivals, the City’s People’s Committee of Uong Bi has spent nearly VND 200 billion in order to upgrade transport infrastructure. For instance, the city has enhanced the linkage between Ba Vang pagoda with Lung Xanh tourism area; Ba Vang pagoda with Yen Trung lake and Yen Tu mountain, creating a road connecting to the spiritual tourism destinations in the city.
Functional departments are also directed to intensify instructions and inspection activities so as to ensure a healthy bussiness climate, environmental sanitation, food hygiene and safety, transport safety, fire fight and prevention, etc. Prices of goods are requested to be posted in the list provided to the customers. Additionally, the city’s leaders have directed relevant sectors and departments to draw plans for the implementation of the activities during the 2018 National Tourism Year. Spiritual tourism products and festivals must feature Uong Bi city, and must be in accordance with the State’s regulations.
It is expected that, in the 2018 National Tourism Year, Uong Bi city in general and Yen Tu Historic Relic in particular will be one of the best destinations for both domestic and foreign tourists, and give them a good reason to come back.
