Uong Bi earns over VND 628 bln in tourism revenue

The figure was released from a conference reviewing the organization and management of festivals and tourism activities in 2018, and setting up tasks for 2019.

As reported, in 2018, a part from 7 annual festivals such as: Yen Tu festival, Ba Vang pagoda, Hang Son pagoda, etc., a wide range of new tourism products were also held in Uong Bi city, notably Yen Tu Pilgrimage Village; an exhibition displaying 200 bonsai art works. Also in the year, the People’s Committee of Uong Bi city pay great attention to diversifying tourism types aiming at offering more experience, namely: Yen Trung lake; Lung Xanh ecotourism area; 25/2 square and the walking street in the central city.

With those efforts, by Oct. 30, 2018, the number of tourist arrivals to the city is estimated at nearly 2.1 million, gaining a revenue of more than VND628 billion, seeing a drammatical rise in comparision with the same period last year. Of which, the figure of visitor arrivals to Yen Tu relic and Ba Vang pagoda was over 982,000 and nearly 870,000, respectively.

The city targets to greet more than 2.2 million arrivals in 2018.

In the upcoming time, Uong Bi plans to enhance advertisment and development of tourism in line with the economic development. In addition, the vital roles of the whole political system in managing festivals and religious activities and ensuring social security will help developing Uong Bi into an attractive destination for both domestic and foreign visitors.
