Tra Co recognized as national tourism site

The Minnistry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has recently recognized Mong Cai city’s Tra Co as the National Tourism Site.

Accordingly, Tra Co National Tourism Site covers an area of 44.036 ha, including 18,238 ha of the land area and 25,798 ha of the water surface. Its North is adjacent to Ka Long river, the South is near the East sea while the East is bordering to China and the West is adjacent to Hai Yen ward (Mong Cai City, Quang Ninh).

After the announcement, relevant sectors and departments will have to study and propose the Government to consider appropriate policies and mechanisms to promote sustainable tourism development for the Tra Co National Tourism Site.

The recognition is to concretize the Decision No.201 / QD-TTg by the Prime Minister on the approval of the master plan for Vietnam tourism development till 2020, and in a vision to 2030. It will not only help attract more tourist arrivals to the site in particular and Mong Cai city in general but also boost Quang Ninh tourism development.
