In 2018, Mong Cai tourism sector maintains rapid growth with positive results. As reported, the total number of tourist arrivals to Mong Cai city was estimated at 2.7 million, up 22% over the same period of 2017, earning VND 43,058 billion in budget collection.
These impressive achievement resulted from efforts of Mong Cai city’s functional authorities in enhancing advertisement and propaganda, as well as fostering tourism and services in line with preserving and promoting values of the cultural heritages within the city. Moreover, the quality of tourism routes, attractions and tourism products in Mong Cai were much improved in order to offer visitors better services. Mong Cai International border gate, Sa Vi tourism spot, hotels, restaurants and shopping centers were much upgraded. Also in 2018, 12 events responding the National Tourism Year were held in Mong Cai city, alluring more tourists to the city and contributing to socio-economic development of the city.
With robust measures to create breakthroughs in tourism business, Mong Cai city has gained great achievements in 2018. Specifically, the city received 2.7 million tourist arrivals, a rise of 22% in comparision to 2017. Of which, the number of overnight visitors in Mong Cai city was 255,000, up 11% against the same period last year. The number of visitors through the Mong Cai border gate was 2,337,449, seeing an increase of nearly 40% compared with the same period last year. With this growth, along with more effective measures to be undertaken to foster tourism development breakthroughs in Mong Cai’s tourism sector is expected to be made in the upcoming time.
