Tourism development in Binh Lieu

In recent years, Binh Lieu’s tourism has witnessed remarkable growth. Now the border district turns itself from unknown to well-known destination in Quang Ninh’s tourism map.

Binh Lieu proposed Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee to approve 3 tours and 7 tourism sites in 2017. It also made planning for 7 tourist products including discovery tours and experiencing cultures of ethnic minorities such as Luc Na Communal House festival, Kieng Gio or Avoiding Wind festival of Dao Thanh Phan ethnic group and Soong Co Singing Festival of San Chi minority people.

The number of tourist arrivals to Binh Lieu increases annually, from 33,000 in 2015 to nearly 69,000 in 2018.  Tourism revenue in 2018 equals to 131% of the set target and reached 20.6 bill VND.

Implementing the province’s orientation and the master plan for Binh Lieu’s tourism development to 2020 with a vision toward 2030, the district has actively improved services at restaurants, hotels, locally branded OCOP products supply chain.

Since 2017, homestay services started to boom in Binh Lieu. Along with that, a variety services are also provided, such as tent, motorbike or costume rental services and local agricultural products for sale.

Binh Lieu carried out robust measures to attract investors and supported businesses to develop eco-tourism, culture and leisure projects at advantageous locations such as Cao Ba Lanh Mountain, Song Mooc A and B waterfalls; speeding up the implementation of the project to develop Tay people mountain village in Dong Thanh Hamlet, Hoanh Mo Commune; renovating Luc Na Communal House in Luc Hon Commune; calling on social sources to develop services at Khe Van waterfall. The district is also promoting cooperation with Fangchengang, China to launch cross-border tourism activities.
