Top Lao leader arrives in Viet Nam for official friendship visit

General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith arrived in Ha Noi this morning, starting his two-day official friendship visit to Viet Nam.

This is the first foreign trip by Sisoulith in his capacity as the Lao Party General Secretary and President for the 2021-26 tenure, which indicates the two countries’ consistent foreign policies of attaching importance to preserving and ceaselessly strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation.

The official welcome ceremony for the top Lao leader is scheduled to take place at the Presidential Palace in Ha Noi, followed by his meeting with Vietnamese Party and State leaders.
