To decide Joint venture between Perkins & Will (USA) and Aurecon (Australia) to draw the regional construction planning for Quang Ninh

On August 6, in Ha Long city, Vice-Chairman of QNPPC Do Thong, the Chairman of the Review Panel chaired a meeting to decide the consulting units to draw planning for urban construction and technical infrastructure of Quang Ninh. The meeting was also attended by the leaders representing for relevant provincial departments and sectors.

At the meeting, the Quang Ninh Department of Construction reported that after reviewing, studying and evaluating based on the profile of the consulting units including capability, expertise, experiences, implementation solutions, and estimated cost., the Department has chosen 3 joint venture consulting unites, namely;  joint venture between the Vietnam Institute of Architecture, Urban and Rural Planning under the ministry of Construction (VIAP) and AREP (France); joint venture between Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (the U.S) and the Vietnam National Construction Consulting Corporation (VNCC); and the joint venture between Perkins & Will (the USA) and Aurecon (Australia), a consulting unit based in Vietnam. At the meeting, all members of the Review Panel have discussed with each other and unanimously agreed to select the consulting units by secret voting. As a result, joint venture between Perkins & Will (the USA) and Aurecon Consulting Group (Australia) were finally selected to be the consulting units to draw the regional construction planning for Quang Ninh.

To conclude the meeting, Mr. Do Thong assigned the Construction Department to complete all the administrative procedures to be reported to the QNPPC. He said that the Review Panel will have a meeting with the Construction Ministry and Economy Institute to estimate the cost of the construction work. Additionally, the Vice-Chairman of QNPPC requested the Panel to accompany the consulting unit to undertake field-surveys during the planning implementation.
