On November 25, at the Provincial Conference Center, the Second 2011-2016 Fishery Association's Congress was held in Quang Ninh.
Attending the Congress were Mr. Nguyen Viet Thang, former Deputy Minister of Fisheries, former Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chairman of Vietnam's Fisheries Association, Mr. Nguyen Nhu Hien, Vice Chairman of Provincial permanent People's committee, the leaders of departments and representatives of Fishery Association of districts and towns in the province.
For five years, the Fishery Association has collaborated with the provincial functional departments for marine resource protection and exploitation for positive and effective development: the number of vessels in 2006 was of over 7000 with the capacity of 129,200 CV, the production 35,500 tons in 2010, an increase of over 13,000 ones with the capacity of up to 256,538 CV, the production 51,380 tons.
Also, the area of aquaculture increased significantly in 2010 compared with that in 2006 with over 19,500 ha and the total output of over 30,000 tons. In addition, the businesses in the Executive Board of the Fishery Association actively have looked for markets, promoted national and international trade, helped members process profitable goods for export and domestic consumption...
The organization system of provincial Fishery Association has been strengthened and developed with the more operation diversity.
The Fishery Association of all local levels, businesses, members have always focused on the direction of local socio-economic development, implemented good production, trading activities, actively participated in social activities, encouraged members, raised funds.
Quang Ninh's Fishery Association launched a number of tasks and solutions in the coming term, such as: building local firm Fishery Association, producing and trading efficiently, participating in programs, projects, training and transferring science and technology; promoting information communications and foreign affairs, participating in charity activities and other activities of the industry, the emulation as well ...
In his speech at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Viet Thang, former Deputy Minister of Fisheries, former Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chairman of Vietnam's Fisheries Association praised and appreciated the achievements and contributions of Quang Ninh's Fishery Association during the last term.
Regarding the development in the future, he agreed with the six basic tasks, contents that the Provincial Fisheries Association had called for in the coming term.
Besides, he asked the Fisheries Association to continue promoting the system of infrastructure for offshore fishing teams up to the provincial marine potential strength.
Also Quang Ninh's Fishery Association should expand aquaculture in different fields, focus on building proposed projects in accordance with the provincial natural conditions and the improvement of membership's knowledge.
He hoped in the next term, Quang Ninh's Fishery Association would continue its efforts contributing to the fisheries development in Quang Ninh and Vietnam.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Nhu Hien, Vice Chairman of Provincial Permanent People's Committee pleased with the results and great efforts by the Fishery Association of Quang Ninh for five years.
Mr. Nguyen Nhu Hien confirmed that Quang Ninh's Provincial Fishery Association played an important role in the provincial economic development, contributing significantly to the awareness of fishermen for the economic reform and development of aquaculture in the province.
To achieve better results in the coming term, Mr. Nguyen Nhu Hien, Vice Chairman of Provincial Permanent People's Committee asked the Fishery Association to continue to strengthen, develop district Fishery Association for exploiting the strength of the province along with contributing to the security and sovereignty of the islands.
