In the framework of the working visit to China, the delegation of Quang Ninh province headed by Vice Chairwoman Vu Thi Thu Thuy participated in the talk on tourism cooperation between Quang Ninh (Vietnam) and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) on Jun. 1.
In her speech at the talk, Quang Ninh’s Vice Chairwoman emphasized that the tourism cooperation tie between Quang Ninh and Guangxi has been much improved. The number of tourist arrivals to the both sides has increased. In addition, tourism products and attractive tours of the two sides have been developed by tourism sector of Quang Ninh and Guangxi to meet increasing demands of the tourists.
Having said that, Mrs. Vu Thi Thu Thuy hoped that through the talk, the two sides would propose and discuss not only the solutions to promote more effectively potential and advantages, but also the measures to deal with difficulties facing tourism sector so as to develop tourism in the most effective and sustainable way.
For his part, Vice Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Zhang Xiaoqin highly appreciated the active involvement of Quang Ninh Government in enhancing State management to improve the tourism business climate over the years, as well as ensuring the rights of the Chinese tourists visiting Vietnam.
The leader of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region strongly affirmed that his local authority will closely collaborate with Quang Ninh in intensifying the management of the border tourism, continuing to extend and diversifying cooperation activities to develop tours and tourist routes, and offering tourism enterprises of the both sides the best conditions for their business.
Closing the talk, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on enhancing the comprehensive tourism cooperation between Quang Ninh province and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region was signed. Accordingly, the two sides will enhance managment and inspection of tourism activities, ensuring safety, security for tourists, and build a clean tourism business environment. Espeacially, the two sides agreed to make best efforts to develop tourism activities in the Mong Cai (Quang Ninh-Vietnam)-Dongxing (China) border into a hightlight of the border tourism cooperation relationship between Vietnam and China.
The two sides agreed to gradually standardize the services of the border tourism business, appoint or introduce some of the reliable and capable travel agents to provide tours and services for the tourists through the borders; as well as to provide update information about policies and guidlines of the two governments regarding tourism development.
Also according to the MoU, both sides agreed to some issues, namely: to develop new models of tourism; to complete the existing tourism route called the "golden" route -"two nations and 4 destinations" including Mong Cai- Ha Long (Vietnam)-Fangchenggang- Guilin (China); to consider to link the two world heritage sites of Ha Long Bay (Vietnam) and Guilin (China); to finalize mechanisms on meeting and information exchange; and to enhance tourism advertisment and promotion, training in management and tour-guilders.
