On July 17, in Ha Noi city, Quang Ninh Standing Provincial Party Committee had a meeting with Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss about the project on a rapid and sustainable socio-economic development, ensuring security and defense as well as the development of the two administrative-economic zones of Mong Cai and Van Don. The meeting was attended by Secretary of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee Pham Minh Chinh, Foreign Affairs Minister Pham Binh Minh, and the leaders of the relevant departments and institutions.
At the meeting, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh has made a brief introduction of the project. He highlighted Quang Ninh's position and its important roles in the key economic zone of the North as well as its potential for economic development, such as trade, services, tourism, seaports...
However, he also indicated a numbers of limitations of the province that have been mentioned in the project. Therefore, Quang Ninh province wishes to receive more supports and professional advices from the Government and relevant ministries to the project so that Quang Ninh could develop appropriate particular policies and mechanisms to effectively implement this project when it is approved.
Participants at the meeting have unanimously highly appreciated this scientific and creative the project, showing the strategic vision of the province. Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh strongly agreed with the contents of the project, and confirmed that his ministry will provide the province with the best conditions during the implementation of the project.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, the Secretary of Provincial Party Committee sincerely thanked the participants for their comments and contribution to the project. On that basis, the province will make appropriate amendments of the project, then report to the Politburo.
