Special stamps record National Day

On September 2, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence declaring the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Stamp collectors in Quang Ninh consider special sets of stamps recording thiss important day priceless "assets".

 Mr. Nguyen Canh Loan carefully preserves stamps about President Ho Chi Minh and the National Day.

According to Mr. Nguyen Canh Loan, a 90-year-old stamp collector living in Ha Long city, over 10 sets of stamp including more than 100 stamp designs and 3 stamp block designs on the theme of National Day September 2nd have been issued since 1945. 

In addition, the Soviet Union, China and the German Democratic Republic (formerly) also issued stamp sets commemorating Vietnam's National Day.

The stamp set "Commemorating the 1st Anniversary of August Revolution and the Founding Day of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam", issued on September 2, 1946.
The stamp set commemorated the 15th anniversary of National Day September 2, issued in 1960.

Năm 1970, Bưu chính Việt Nam phát hành bộ tem 5 mẫu kỷ niệm 25 năm Ngày Quốc khánh, 1 mẫu vẽ chân dung Chủ tịch Hồ Chí Minh, 4 mẫu vẽ các anh hùng liệt sĩ: Võ Thị Sáu, Phan Đình Giót, Nguyễn Viết Xuân, Nguyễn Văn Trỗi, lan tỏa tinh thần yêu nước, cổ vũ hai miền Nam - Bắc thi đua đánh giặc lập công, thống nhất đất nước.

In 1970, Vietnam Post issued a set of 5 stamps to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the National Day, 1 with a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh, 4 with portraits of heroic martyrs: Vo Thi Sau, Phan Dinh Giot, Nguyen Viet Xuan, Nguyen Van Troi, spreading the spirit of patriotism, encouraging the two regions of the South and the North to compete to fight the enemy and unify the country.
A block of stamps was issued in 1975, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the National Day.
A stamp set was issued in 1980 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the National Day.
The samp set issued by the Soviet Post on August 25, 1960 to commemorate the 15th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day.

2 stamps were issued by China Post in 1960 to celebrate Vietnam's National Day.
The Soviet Post stamp issued in 1965 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day.
The stamp set and envelopes "Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam" were issued by the Soviet Post on September 2, 1985.
