On May 5th, a signing ceremony of the consulting contract to draw the master plan on socio-economic development of Quang Ninh province to the year of 2012 and in the vision of 2030 was held by QNPPC. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyen Duc Long, Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Nguyen Van Doc Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee (QNPPC), and Mr. Macro Breu- General Director of McKinsey &Company Ltd based in Vietnam and his entourage.
After many working sessions with other foreign consulting units, QNPPC decided to choose the McKinsey Group (the U.S) as the unit consulting the master plan on socio-economic development of Quang Ninh to 2012 and in the vision of 2030. Accordingly, the contract consists of 16 articles under which the implementation is divided into four phases. The first 3 phases includes the master plan on socio-economic development of the province to 2020 and in the vision of 2030. The final phase is to implement the master plan once it is approved by the PM. The cost and payment forms are also agreed in the contract in accordance with the current laws.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Doc highly appreciated good preparations of the McKinsey Group as well as relevant departments and sectors who have responsibly discussed to reach unanimous agreement and sign the contract. He also acknowledged the Techcombank’s assistance and collaboration.
Mr. Nguyen Van Doc emphasized that the master plan of Quang Ninh’s socio-economic development needs to offer a new and more comprehensive vision and create a new breakthrough in socio-economic development of the province. The plan will help the provincial leaders to direct the socio-economic development based on its feasibility and effectiveness. In addition, the deadline was also mentioned in the contract.
