On Dec.16, Secreatary of Quang Ninh Provincial Party's Committee Pham Minh Chinh, Vice Chairman of QNPPC Do Thong and leaders of the revelant provincial departments worked with Mr. David Stone, CEO of the AES-VCM Mong Duong Power Company Limited (under the AES Corporation (USA) regarding the implementation of Mong Duong 3 BOT Power Project.
Mr. David Stone sincerely thanked all the QNPPC leaders for their support to the company. He is also pleased with results during the iplementation of the Mong Duong 2 Power project and pledged to complete the projectas soon as possible.
Regarding the Mong Duong 3 BOT Power Project, Mr. David Stone stressed that Group is now seeking for a suitable location. He added that a representative office was opened in Hanoi in order to find partners and promote the implementation of the project. He, however, proposed some measures to overcome difficulties raised during the implemeation of the project .
Speaking at the working session, Secretary Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Quang Ninh has provided the Group with the most favourable conditions and met all the AES's needs during the project implementation. He said that the cooperation tie of the both sides has brought positive results for mutual benefit.
The Secretary suggested that AES may consider to collaborate with Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group- Vinacomin in this project. He emphasized that the Plant should not be built by Ha Long bay and Bai Tu Long bay. The location must be carefully considered to ensure the natural landscape and environment as well as the master plan of the province. Chinh then proposed the location in Ba Che commune. He alo pleaged that the benefit of the investor is the mesurement of the value of the province. Therefore, if the construction of the Plant in Ba Che is too costly, the province will recommend other appropriate location.
