On March 27, the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee in collaboration with the Vietnam History Science Association held a scientific conference to mark 725th anniversary of the victory at Bach Dang (1288 – 2013).

At the conference, Professor Academician Phan Huy Le presented a report on the role of the Tran Dynasty’s supreme headquarters in the Bach Dang Victory in 1288. He stressed the key role of the three Emperors, Tran Thai Tong, Tran Thanh Tong and Tran Nhan Tong, and Grand Duke Tran Hung Dao, the heroes in the great victory at Bach Dang against Mongol invaders.
Associate Prof, Dr. Vu Van Quan and M.A Tong Van Loi offered the facts to prove the key role of the Bach Dang River. The Bach Dang River ran through Yen Hung district, Quang Ninh province.
The Party Central Committee member, Deputy Minister of Defence, Dr. Nguyen Van Hien presented a report on promoting the Bach Dang’s traditions, building the modern Vietnam People's Navy, incessantly improve the general quality and struggling power to defend the nation’s sovereignty over the sea, islands, the continental shelf in the new situation.
In addition, the conference includes 18 scientific reports of prestigious domestic experts and researchers on history, culture and military.
These are the scientific works to help the people of Quang Ninh and the country further understand the Bach Dang Victory in 1288, contributing to educate the tradition of patriotism and the desire for peace, national solidarity and deep gratitude for generations sacrificed for the country.
At the conference, Ms. Vu Thi Thu Thuy, Vice Chairman of Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee, said that on September 27, 2012 the Prime Minister made Decision 1419/QD-TTg to grant a special national relic certificate for this Bach Dang historical site of Quang Yen town, Uong Bi city, Quang Ninh province.
Ms Vu Thi Thu Thuy also informed Quang Ninh has established the organizing board of activities to celebrate the 725th anniversary of the glorious Bach Dang victory (1288-2013) and receive the special national relic status for the Bach Dang historical complex./.
