Royal Thai Embassy surveys export- import opportunities for agricultural products via Mong Cai Border Gate

On May 15, in Mong Cai city, Mong Cai Border Gate’s Customs Branch had a working session with a survey delegation of Royal Thai Embassy to Hanoi. Prominent among those at the event were Thai Trade Counsellor to Hanoi, Pannakarn Jiamsuchon, and Chairman of Mong Cai city, Nguyen Tien Dung.

At the working session, Thai Trade Counsellor to Hanoi, Pannakarn Jiamsuchon said that this survey aimed at seeking information about import and export activities through Mong Cai city in general and agricultural products in particular. She also informed Mong Cai city’s People’s Committee and Mong Cai Border Gate’s Customs Branch that the Royal Thai Government and the Government of the People's Republic of China reached an agreement on exporting Thai agricultural products to China via Vietnam’s Mong Cai Border Gate which created a great opportunity for goods trading among Thailand – Vietnam – China.

On behalf of Mong Cai city’s authority, Chairman Nguyen Tien Dung thanked the concern and cooperation of the Royal Thai Embassy as well as the Royal Thai Government in promoting import-export activities.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to maintain their relation to jointly promote the development of trade in goods, thus tightening friendship between Thailand and Vietnam in general and Mong Cai city in particular.
