In order to ensure safety in cage and raft farming and protect the coastal environment, Quang Ninh has issued Decision No. 31/2020/QĐ-UBND on technical norms on materials used for floating buoy in aquaculture farming in brackish water and saltwater in Quang Ninh.
The norms are subjective to brackish and saltwater aquaculture establishments using cages and rafts in combination with floating buoys, producers and importers in the field of materials for making floating buoys serving aquaculture farming.
The decision also defines the roadmap of implementing the regulation from Jan.1, 2021. From Jan.1, 2023, aquaculture establishments using unsuitable materials will have to change all to meet the requirement.
Quang Ninh is the first locality nationwide issuing technical standards regarding aquaculture cage and raft farming in which floating buoys are used.
