Tien Yen is described as a composition of majestic mountains and waterfalls in the highlands combined with the gentle river, immense sea, and upright and plain people.
Anyone who wants to feel the wilderness and majesty of the land should step up to 700 meters above the sea level and cross 16 layers of Pac Sui waterfall (Yen Than commune). Each layer has its own beauty. There are vertical layers with white water foam while others are slightly tilted with the smooth water flows. The waterfall never runs out of water so it is called Pac Sui (White Water).
From Yen Than through Dai Thanh and Dai Duc palm areas, tourists can downstream the gentle Tien Yen River to Dong Rui island commune. Of the 5,000 ha of tidal flat, Tien Yen has 2,000 ha of mangrove forest, mainly in Dong Rui island commune. Coming here, tourists can not only visit the mangrove forest but also directly catch, process and eat seafood species. If having time, they can row about 4 kilometres to Long Vang cape. The 20ha cape is wide enough for tourists to contemplate a romantic space with stretching sandy beaches and blue sea water
Located in the center of the eastern region, a transit point to neighboring areas, Tien Yen creates links between the province and other localities in the country and also the world as it is near border gates with China. This is a stop of the tourist routes to and from Mong Cai, Binh Lieu and Lang Son. Hence, specialties of Tien Yen such as hill chicken, nodding rice cake, caramelized and steamed pork, peanut brittle, Cha cake and vermicelli made of cassava will have more opportunities to accompany tourists to go farther.
Beside the charming nature, Tien Yen also has special cultural and spiritual tourism resources such as Khe Tu relic site, Dai Vuong shrine, Khe Giao mountain relic site, Linh Quan pagoda, Thong Nhat church and the French forest rangers’ house ... Tien Yen people also preserve the ancient houses with black brick and yin-yang roof tile, similar to the architecture of the Hoa (Chinese) ethnic people in the ancient town of Hoi An.
