According to the Department of Education and Training, all of the six projects presented by Quang Ninh high school students at the national science and technology contest got prizes including one 1st prize, one 3rd prize and four 4th ones.
The contest designed for high school students in the north region took place within three days from March 9 in Hanoi.
Among 34 localities, Quang Ninh is the only one receiving prizes for all projects. It’s also the first time the team from Quang Ninh has taken the first prize at this contest. The project titled “Machine to clean the bottom of shrimp raising ponds” set up by Ngo Anh Tai and Nguyen Duc Hoan from the secondary school of Tan An at Tan An commune in Quang Yen town.
This year’s contest held in the north region delivered 15 first prizes.
The annual contest has been organised by the Ministry of Education and Training for 7 years to encourage science and technology research, innovation and application at the high school level. The northern region organized in Hanoi attracted 252 projects, 35 units and 487 students and the southern one, scheduled to be held on March 13-16 in Ho Chi Minh city, will have the participation of 34 units presenting 229 projects.
