According to the Quang Ninh provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Quang Ninh received 734,700 tourist arrivals in the first 5 months of 2015, brigning the total number for the first 5 months 4.776 mln, exceeding 62% and a rise of 12% over the same period. The total tourism revenue is estimated to be VND 1,618 bln, seeing a rise of 99% over the same period of the last year.
Of which, the number of foreign arrivals reached 1.15 million, a 4% increase over a year earlier and tourist arrivals staying overnight were over 1.65 million, also a 4% rise against the same period last year.
The total tourism revenue in the first 5 months gained 2.732 bln, 41.9% of the year’s plan or a year-on-year increase 21%.
This was resulted from the Quang Ninh's successful organization of Ha Long-Quang Ninh tourism week 2015, including the 2015 Ha Long Carnival.
