A halfway of the National Tourism Year 2018 has gone and Quang Ninh tourism sector has seen impressive growth in the first five months of the year.
As reported, tourist arrivals to Quang Ninh hit 6.6 million in the first five months of 2018, an increase of 26 percent against the same period last year. Of which, 2.17 million are international arrivals, up 12 percent. The province’s January-May revenue from tourism gained VND 11 trillion VND, up 32 percent compared to the same period last year.
Various attractive tourism products offered to tourists
Thanks to good preparations for the National Tourism year 2018 Ha Long-Quang Ninh, the province has offered a variety of tourism products, in an effort of meeting the entertainment and travelling demands of the tourists. Tourism infrastructure has been upgraded to be ready for robust development of tourism.
From Jannuary to May, a wide range of cultural, tourism and sport activities have been held provincewide to allure visitors to Quang Ninh. The highlight was the opening ceremony of the National Tourism Year 2018 and Ha Long Carnival 2018 held in late April at the Sunworld Ha Long complex in Ha Long city, attracting thousands of tourists visiting Ha Long city.
The number of tourists to not only entertainment spots in the center but also in other localities of Quang Ninh has increased. According to the statistics from Quang Ninh Tourism Department, the province received a total of over 500,000 tourist arrivals in the opening week of the National Tourism Year 2018.
Remarkably, tourism enterprises has paid much attention to rais the quality of services and provid tourists with a wide range of attractive tourism products. One of them is Quang Ninh Gate tourism comlex which was put into use in late April offering various services and attracting a great deal of visitors in this summer.
Tourism sector in peak season
June is the peak season of the domestic tourists to Quang Ninh.
According to the travel agencies, the number of holidaymakers to the coastal resorts in Quang Ninh has continuously increased this year, espeacially at weekends. Some of the resorts are overloaded in the summer. Tourism infrastructure in other resorts in Co To and Van Don island districts have also been improved to serve the tourists. For instance, this year, Quan Lan has built an extra number of 1,000 rooms while in Co To, over 2,600 rooms were put in operation.
Other tourism attractions in Mong Cai city and Hai Ha district are also crowded with tourists in this summer. Potential and advantages of sea and island tourism in these two localities have been effectively tapped by tourism companies with the aim of offering various kinds of services to the visitors.
In sum, summer is always the favourable time for the domestic tourism market. Thus, ensurance of safety and security for tourists at tourism complexes, tourism attractions in the province needs to be continuously enhanced for the purpose of friendly and sustainable development of Quang Ninh’s tourism.
