On Jan. 11, in Ha Long city, the Quang Ninh Tourism Association held an year-end meeting to review its performance in 2017 and define tasks and missions for 2018.
At the conference, the Tourism Association of Quang Ninh province was highlighted for its good performance in 2017. As reported, it closely collaborated with VietnamTourism Association and Quang Ninh Tourism Department in training human resource; organizing 5 training courses on hotel security for all the staff of the three, four and five star hotels. Moreover, the Association sent representatives to attend meetings of the functional departments to raise opinions and report difficulties facing tourism businesses, such as, travel bussiness, tourist transportation, land lease rate, etc.
In addition, the Quang Ninh Tourism Association was very active in protecting the legal rights of its members and the tourists, and involving in tourism promotion; greatly contributing to the success of Quang Ninh tourism sector.
As a result, in 2017, Quang Ninh received over 9.8 million tourist arrivals, up 18%, and earned more than VND17,880 billion in revenue, a rise of 30% over the last year.
To intensify the effectiveness of its role, the Association set major tasks for 2018, of which the highlight is to actively involve in the activities of the National Tourism Year. It also aimes to have more members from in the key tourism regions within the province; collaborating with functional department and educational institutions to organize more training courses for staff members of travel agencies, particulary in far and remoted areas, promoting the linkage among member enterprises and improve the relationship among associations provincewide and nationwide, etc.
On this occasion, the Association's leader granted merits to the excellent individuals and organizations for their great efforts to tourism sector in 2017.
