Strictly following the Government and the province’s guidelines on Covid-19 prevention and control, tourist areas and accommodations in Quang Ninh stopped receiving visitors while making preparation plans to welcome them back as soon as getting permission to reopen.
Quang Ninh often witnesses a rocketed number of visitors to the province during the holiday period of Apr. 30 and May 1. However, everything changes this year due to Covid-19 spirals. In order to avoid disease outbreak and spread in the community, Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee has undertaken tough preventive measures against the disease, including postponing all tourism activities since Mar. 2020.
With the aim of curbing the disease spread in the community, especially limiting people’s travelling demand during holiday period after the Government decided to ease social distancing, Quang Ninh’s Department of Tourism promulgated Plan No 1274/SDL-CSLT requiring local tourist accommodations to strictly obey Covid-19 prevention and control rules and not postpone receiving tourists from Apr. 24 to May 3.
Mr. Bui Tan Dieu, Director of Central Luxury Hạ Long Hotel, said “Though postponing, we still sprayed both inside and outside the hotel with disinfectant and organized small training course for our staff. Apr. 30 and May 1 is the golden period for tourist businesses to earn revenue but we follow regulations to ensure Covid-19 prevention and control”.
According to Department of Tourism, tourist accommodations and travel agencies have strictly implemented the disease prevention and control rules.
Earlier, to ensure the success of the fight against Covid-19 while promoting tourism demand, Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee issued Document No.2171/UBND-DL2 on changing organization time for Ha Long Tourism Week and Ha Long Carnival 2020. Accordingly, they will be organized on National Day Sept. 2 if the disease is well controlled.
