According to the municipal People’s Committee of Quang Ninh, Japan will present cherry blossom trees to Quang Ninh province in December.
These cherry blossom trees will be growed in Ha Long city and Yen Tu Heritage Landmark in Uong Bi city.
Cherry blossoms are known among Vietnamese people as the national flower and the symbol of Japan. But growing the trees in the country is difficult due to climate and soil condition.
Therefore, Japanese gardening experts are now conducting climate and land surveys to find out the most suitable places for growing these trees and ensure that locals and tourists can enjoy cherry blossom blooming in the next three or four years.
Planting Japanese cherry blossom trees in Quang Ninh will contribute to promoting Vietnam-Japan cooperation in general and Quang Ninh-Japan in particular as well as bring the Japanese culture closer to Quang Ninh’s people, helping them to understand deeper about the people and nation of Japan.
