The Ministry of Industry and Trade on Feb. 28 launched the Earth Hour 2012 campaign with the theme “I Will If You Will”, aiming at calling enterprises, organizations, and local people in the nationwide to take actions to adapt to climate change.
The leaders of the Ministry said that the Ministry has sent official document to local departments, sectors on taking actions to response to Earth Hour 2012 campaign, for example: turning off lights and unnecessary electrical appliances during Earth Hour from 8.30 to 9.30 pm local time on Mar. 31.
According to the evaluation of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Vietnam is in the list of top countries that are sensitive to climate change. As a result, since 2009, Vietnam has officially joined the Earth Hour campaign involving communities in all over the world and Quang Ninh province has always been one of the localities that actively respond to the campaign through many practical and specific actions.
