The 2019 National Canoeing Championship was held at Vinh Phuc province’s Dai Lai lake on November 8-10.
The event was jointly held by the Vietnam Canoeing Federation and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. This is the first time Vinh Phuc has hosted this competition.
148 competitors from 20 cities and provinces participated in different age group competitions and raced in a variety of categories including K1, K2 and K4 over distances of 200m, 500m and 1,000m.
The team of Quang Ninh included female atheles working at the provincial Center for Diving, Rescue and Water Sports. These sportswomen received one gold medal, 10 silver ones and 6 bronze ones. The gold medal belongs to Dinh Thi Trang winning the K1 500m.
The best candidates for the national squad are going to compete in the 30th SEA Games to be held in the Philippines later this year.
