Quang Ninh's top cultural events in 2016

Quang Ninh witnessed many cultural events in 2016. Quang Ninh Newspaper has selected the top events that marked the past 12 months of the year.

1. Inauguration of the monument of Vu Van Hieu, the first Secretary of Quang Ninh Coal Mine Special Zone Party Committee.

2. Inscription of Cua Ong Temple Festival on the list of the National Intangible Cultural Heritages.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recently issued Decision No.4036/QĐ-BVHTTDL to recognize the Cua Ong temple festival and other 16 heritages as national intangible cultural heritages. This recognition of the Cua Ong temple festival helps not only promote the value of the festival but also preserve Quang Ninh's culture.

3. Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee issued the decision decentralizing the management of cultural and historical relics, landscapes and festivals in Quang Ninh province. The decision was in force since Jan. 1, 2017.

The documentation of 3 relics were reviewed and proposed the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to recognise as National relics; 8 relics were approved to be recognized as the provincial relics, including Giang Vong temple (in Ha Long city) and the relic site where Uncle Ho visited Deo Nai coal mine in 1959.

4. Quang Ninh held a ceremony to receive the certificate recognizing "Nhà tơ" singing as the national intangible cultural heritage and honour 2 People's Artists, 3 Excellent Artists, 9 Excellent Craftsmen and 23 Coal Mine Artists for their talent and great contributions in 2015.

5. The Sakura Festival and Ha Long-Quang Ninh Carnival 2016 were successfully held with new highlights, leaving deep impression for the tourists.

6. "Tình người thợ mỏ" won the best title in the National Stage Performance of Cheo singing. One Gold medal and 3 Silver medals were granted to Quang Ninh's Troupe artists.

7. The Quang Ninh's Provincial Culture Center joined the 3 Regions' Folk Singning Festival and won the Gold medal for the whole delegation and Gold medal for "Xúc tép" performance.
