On August 17, Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee (QNPPC) held a meeting to review the implementation of Van Don - Mong Cai highway project.
The construction of Van Don - Mong Cai highway commenced on April 3, 2019. With the length of over 80km, the project is invested by Van Don infrastructure investment and development Co., Ltd. with the total investment capital of over VND 11,000 billion. Currently, the investor is actively coordinating with the local functional authorities to prepare for additional land clearance, and specify the land fund for embankment.
Concluding the meeting, Quang Ninh's Chairman Nguyen Van Thang stressed that Van Don - Mong Cai highway is one of the province's key transport infrastructure projects. Once completed, the project will be an important driver to expand the trade gateway between Vietnam and ASEAN countries with China, helping to promote socio-economic development of the Northern key economic region, and creating new development impetus for Quang Ninh province.
Quang Ninh's Chairman asked the project's investor to continue to coordinate with the provincial relevant departments and sectors, especially the Department of Transport, to as soon as possible reach agreement on the project technical design adjustment in compliance with adjusting the design speed from 100km/h to 120km/h. In addtion, the Chairman also requested that the technical design adjustment must ensure not to make any changes in the total investment capital.
