March 15 was announced as Vietnamese Consumer Rights Day in accordance with the Decision No. 1035 signed by the Prime Minister in 2016.
Quang Ninh province has strictly followed all regulations on the protection of customers’ rights; therefore, the number of violent cases has remarkably decreased in recent years.
This annual event aims at raising people’s awareness about consumers’ rights, encourage businesses and manufacturers to be responsible with their products, and fight against smuggling, thus building a safe and sound market.
Consumer Rights Day aims to enhance public awareness of the issue. It will also help create a healthy consumption environment and encourage the participation of people from all walks of life in protecting the interests of consumers.
At the launching ceremony, many local enterprises signed commitment on producing and selling goods and services of ensured quality for the sake of consumers’ rights.
