Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee Cao Tuong Huy received Cambodian religion minister Him Chhem on May 8, in Ha Long city.
At the reception, Quang Ninh’s Vice Chairman Cao Tuong Huy expressed his happiness to welcome the Cambodian guests to Halong city. He then briefly introduced to the delegation a snap shot of Quang Ninh's socio-economic development as well as the growth of culture, religion and education. He particulalrly highlighted Quang Ninh’s outcomes of ethnicity and religion affairs over the years.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that Cambodia and Vietnam are close and friendly neighboring countries, sharing cultural similarities, gathering different ethnic communities. He hoped that both sides would foster the traditional friendship of the two nations in general and the cooperation between Quang Ninh and other localities of Cambodia in the future would be further developed.
Minister Him Chhem, for his part, briefed the host about achievements of the Ministry of Cults and Religion in recent years, and expressed his impression of the province's development.
He also thanked Quang Ninh’s leaders for their cordial reception, and said that the delegation of the Ministry of Cults and Religion wish to exchange and learn from the experiences of Vietnam in general and Quang Ninh in particular in religion and cultural affairs, contributing to promote the development of Cambodia.
