Quang Ninh will host the 2018 National Tourism Year under the theme of “Ha Long Heritage and Wonder, a Friendly Destination”. As planned, the opening ceremony of the event will take place at Ha Long Park, Ha Long city on the occasion of the National Reunification Day (Apr. 30, 2018).
Among 50 attractive tourism, sport and cultural activities held in Quang Ninh, the highlights of the event will be the opening ceremony and Carnival Ha Long 2018 in Ha Long city on 28 April 2018. The closing ceremony will coincide with the openning ceremony of the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2019 and the Ha Long Golf Open Tournament in January 2019.
These significant events bring Quang Ninh great opportunities to introduce and promote its cultural values, natural resources and unique tourism products to the world. The 2018 National Tourism Year is expected to draw a large number of domestic and foreign tourists to Vietnam in general, and Quang Ninh in particular, contributing to speeding up the growth of not only tourism but also socio-economic development of the province.
At a conference on the preparation for the 2018 National Tourism Year, Quang Ninh's Chairman Nguyen Duc Long asked all of the departments, organisations, economic businesses, travel agencies and the people living in Quang Ninh to join hands to sucessfully organize this important event.
To get ready for the event, a number of major projects will be completed and operated in early 2018, namely: Ha Long-Hai Phong and Ha Long-Van Don expressways; Bach Dang bridge, and Van Don International Airport,etc.
In Ha Long city, the 10-lane road connecting Hai Phong-Ha Long-Van Don highway with Hoang Quoc Viet street are planned to be completed before the opening of the event. Systems of water drainage, electricity and telecommunication are being undergrounded; pavements are improved to ensure the best conditions for the event.
Hosting the National Tourism Year, Quang Ninh is making meticulous preparations for the event. Through this event, the image of Quang Ninh - a friendly destination will be promoted to the domestic and international friends, and contributing to developing the province into a leading tourism center of the country and the region.
