On Oct. 26, in Ha Long city, a delegation of female officials of the Lao People's Democratic Republic led by Mrs. Vilavone Phanthavong, Standing Deputy Secretarty of the Youth Union’s Committee of Laos during their working visit to Quang Ninh and the Provincial Women’s Union.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairwoman of Quang Ninh Women’s Union Nguyen Thi Vinh made a brief introduction about Quang Ninh’s potential and achievements in socio-economic development in recent years. She also shared the movements undertaken by the Quang Ninh Provincial Women’s Union; as well as creative ways in environment protection and building cultural lifestyle of the community.
She hoped that through this visit, the cooperation tie between Laos and Vietnam in general, and the Women Unions of both sides in particular would be more developed in the future.
Mrs. Vilavone Phanthavong, in turns, congratulated Quang Ninh Women’s Union on its great achievements in the women’s activities, promoting the gender equality, and raising the women’s role.
Also at the meeting, she introduced an overview of the organization structure and the operation of the Laos Women’s Union. She also wished that the women unions at all levels of both countries would actively enhance exchange programs to learn from each other, aiming at boosting the development of the two sides.
