On July 29, the 13th session of the Quang Ninh People’s Council for the 2016-2021 term was opened at the city People’s Committee Meeting Hall.
Prominent among those at the meeting were Chairman of the NA's Committee on Economic Affairs Vu Hong Thanh; Secretary of Quang Ninh provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Doc; Standing Deputy Secretary of Quang Ninh provincial Party Committee cum the Chairman of Quang Ninh People’s Council Nguyen Xuan Ky; Deputy Secretary of Quang Ninh provincial Party Committee Ngo Hoang Ngan.
During the two-day session, Council members will report on the implementation of the tasks for the province’s socio-economic development and ensuring its security and defense in the first six months of this year. They will identify orientations and targets for second half of the year and answer voters’ questions about urgent matters.
The council’s members are expected to mull over several proposals submitted by the provincial People’s Committee such as preferential policies for the improvement of Ha Long University’s training quality, policies on supporting commune-level officials, etc.
Attendants will review reports summing up voters’ feedbacks and recommendations and the implementation of decisions made by the council at its previous session.
Addressing the opening session, Standing Deputy Secretary of Quang Ninh provincial Party Committee cum the Chairman of Quang Ninh People’s Council Nguyen Xuan Ky highlighted the importance of this meeting and required participants to not only fully assess the results of implementation of the tasks in the first six months of this year but also overview the achievements and shortcomings of the socio-economic development programs during the second half of the year.
The 13th session of the Quang Ninh People’s Council for the 2016-2021 term will last until July 30.
