Quang Ninh promotes the development of craft village tourism

Quang Ninh has many potentials to develop different types of tourism, including craft village tourism. Preserving craft villages in line with developing tourism has been the right direction of Quang Ninh tourism in recent years. However, in order to efffectively develop craft village tourism to attract tourists to the province, there’re still many things to do.

Quang Yen Town is one of Quang Ninh's localities which has advantages in developing craft village tourism. There are 2 craft villages that were recognized as traditional craft villages, namely Hung Hoc fishing tackle village and Cong Muong craft shipbuilding village. Adopting the model of traditional craft villages associated with tourism development is the province's sustainable tourism development orientation.

Preserving craft villages in association with developing tourism is also a provincial-level scientific topic deployed by Ha Long University in 2 years of 2018 and 2019. Working teams were established to assess and evaluate this new model in Quang Ninh province, especially in Quang Yen town.

At present, some of the production units in these craft villages have been supported with labels, packages, bags, leaflets, product logos. Quang Yen town has also enhanced tours to craft village in the locality. This will be a favorable condition for the town to promote traditional craft villages, and develop attractive tourism products for the locality.

It is certain that the development of craft villages associated with tourism is a right direction of Quang Ninh tourism because it could not only preserve traditional cultures but also helps the town to develop community-base tourism and creat jobs for the locals. It is believed that craft village tourism would be gradually improved to be more attractive in the future, and to help Quang Ninh tourism to be developed in a sustainable way.
