Quang Ninh Party Secretary comforts new military conscripts

Secretary of the Quang Ninh Party Committee Nguyen Van Doc on Feb. 14 attended a ceremony in Ha Long city to comfort and bid farewell to citizens who are doing two years of compulsory military service.

In 2017, Ha Long is to conscript 240 citizens to serve in the military and another 38 to serve in the police force. As reported, the quality of the recruits is improved in comparison with last year. All of them could meet all political requirements, health and educational criteria.

Ha Long conscripts will be despatched to units: the Provincial Air Defence-Air Force, the Provincial General Department of Technology; and Provincial General Command.

At the ceremony, Secretary Nguyen Van Doc presented flowers to the new military recruits, expecting them to uphold the traditions of the armed forces, always fulfill all assigned tasks and help to build a professional, modernised and well-trained military.

Ceremonies were also held across Quang Ninh province on the same day to comfort and send off young people into military service.
