Quang Ninh participates in the 11th East Asia Inter-Regional Tourism Forum (EATOF)

The 11th East Asia Inter-Regional Tourism Forum (General Assembly EATOF) that took place in Cebu city, the Philippines has just ended after 3 working days (from 14th  to 16th, September) with many exciting activities. The Quang Ninh delegation led by the vice-chairwoman of QNPPC – Mrs. Vu Thi Thu Thuy attended the forum.

Under the theme of "New Decade of Sustainable Cooperation and Partnership", the 11th EATOF aims to enhance the exchange of information and create a culture and tourism environment and close cooperation among member provinces. The first-time organized activities of the EATOF 2011 are: Trade Tourism and Investment Forum and EATOF festival.

In this year EATOF, the Quang Ninh delegation and  other member countries have discussed about the emerging issues through specialized seminars,and mutual and bilateral meetings, namely: Trade, Tourism and Investment Forum; Business Discussion; Standing Committee meeting…

Additionally, the delegation has also actively participated in other activities, such as: tourism and travel exhibition; cultural exchanges; field trips; and working together to protect the environment… The contribution of Quang Ninh delegation has been highly appreciated by other member provinces , especially the presentations indicating  causes and  successful lessons of the previous EATOFs.

Along with other member provinces, the Quang Ninh delegation has contributed, agreed and signed the joint declaration of the EATOF 2011. Specifically, there was unanimous agreement on certain contents aiming at strengthening regional cooperation and tourism development. Under the Declaration, commitments in fully implementing the EATOF’s action programs have been reached,  for example:  boosting the promotion of tourism images of the member provinces; voting for Ha Long Bay as one of the new seven wonders of the world.

Splendid success of the 11th EATOF has opened new perspectives for the member provinces and further cement cultural exchange and relationship, promoting tourism activities in the East Asia in general and in member provinces in particular.
