According to a joint announcement of the Ministry of Health and Vietnam Initiative, Quang Ninh Hospital for Obstetrics and Pediatrics ranked 6 among 60 hospitals nationwide on patient satisfaction index (PSI), which proves the tireless efforts of medical staff members of the hospital after 5 years of operation.
Gradually increased health care services
Quang Ninh Hospital for Obstetrics and Pediatrics is a class-two specialized hospital, the highest classification in obstetrics, gynecology and pediatrics of the province. It now becomes a trusted address for an increasing number of patients. Currently, the hospital receives more than 1,200 patient visits a day, fourfold the figure in 2014.
The hospital pays special attention to attracting high quality human resources, enhancing training doctors, nurses and technical staff. Among 473 staff members, there are five medical specialists level 2, and 21 medical specialists level I, four master doctors along with medical staff, pharmacists, technical staff are qualified to operate modern medical equipments.
A part from universal techniques, the hospital can also develop specialized techniques, receive new and complicated techniques transferred from central hospitals. Since the beginning of the year, the hospital has carried out 13 cardiovascular intervention surgeries, 10 open-heart surgeries. Patients can access to advanced techniques right at the local hospital and don’t need to move to central ones.
Services styles and attitudes changed
Nguyen Hoang Phuong, based in Quang Yen Town, has welcomed his first child born after conception by in vitro fertilization, or IVF at Quang Ninh Obstetrics and Pediatrics hospital. He shared: “We were highly satisfied with services and attitudes of medical staff. They are devoted to their work, providing thoughtful guidance and consultancy.”
Customer-care teams were set up to support patients and boost health care consultancy and communication. The hospital is pioneering to apply IT to the examination and treatment; launching switchboard 19009087; website sannhiquangninh.vn for patients to look up their health check results and consultancy; smart cards and kiosks for automatic registration were also introduced to better serve patients.
