Quang Ninh Customs works with USAID's representative in Vietnam

Quang Ninh Customs last week had a working session with representative of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Vietnam, led by Mr. William Richard Huntington, regarding the initial survey on trade and growth in order to collect feedbacks of Vietnam's State agencies on economic administration, trade and growth. This data collection is used for the State management project.

During the working session, the two sides have discussed about a number of relevant issues, namely: human resouces development, modernization reform and the collaboration between Quang Ninh Customs and other functional management agencies. Besides, a variety of proposals, policies, and strategies; the ways to enhance the cooperation with other functional authorities were also raised in the session, aiming at creating the best conditions for the trade development.

The representative of the Quang Ninh Customs briefed its good performance over the years. Specifically, the department has actively faciltate trade and stricty comply with the commitments in the Free Trade Agreements (FTA), ; and building a professional and transparent environment. Particularly, it sucessfully applies the Vietnam Automated Cargo and Port Consolidated System (VNACCS/VICS), which helps reduce administrative procedures.

Speaking at the session, Mr. William Richard Huntington highly aprreciated good performance by the Customs Department of Quang Ninh, strongly affirming that information shared and exchaged by the department will be vital data source for the USAID to implement the State management project.
