On Jan. 26, the provincial Youth Union held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the newly-built Cultural Palace for Children and Youth.
Having been kicked off since January 2018, the project of the provincial Cultural Palace for Children and Youth has a total investment capital of VND 343 billion sourced from the state budget. The 11-hectare palace includes an office area, an area for youth union members’ activities, an area for arts and performances, a sports area, a swimming pool, a large yard, an outdoor stage over a lake, and a recreation area.
After being assigned to manage the cultural palace, the provincial Youth Union committed to operate the building at full capacity. A variety of classes will be opened under the guidance of experienced and prestigous teachers; and a range useful activites for children and youngsters will be organized in the coming time. Especially, in summer, the Palace will open numerous classes of all catogories for about 2,000-3,000 students.
Addressing the ceremony, Quang Ninh’s Chairman Nguyen Duc Long praised the project management board and constructors for their considerable efforts to complete the project on time and with good quality.
He highlighted the province’s high priority over the development of human resources including the young generation. The cultural palace for them is situated in an ideal location near a range of well-known and attractive destinations such as Halong Flower Park, the provincial Museum and Library, the Exhibition of Planning and Expo Center, etc.
Therefore, he then asked the Youth Union to maximize the efficiency of the whole site. Closer cooperation between the Youth Union and relevant departments such as the Education and Training Department, the Department of Culture and Sports should be ensured so as to find out outstanding teachers and officials who are able to organize exciting activities to successfully attract a great number of adolescents in Ha Long city in particular and across the province in gerneral to come for exchange and study.
With a synchronous, innovative and beautiful design, the palace is expected to be a venue to honour and train young talents in the field of culture, arts, sports, and life skills, satisfying Quang Ninh young people’s increasing demands for better education and recreation.
