Children living with HIV/AIDS in Quảng Ninh will receive financial assistance in terms of tuition and hospital fees from 2012 to 2015, according to a recent decision issued by the provincial People’s Committee.
When studying at state-run schools, children living with HIV/AIDS will enjoy free of charge tuition. At private schools, they will receive financial assistance to cover tuition fees. Each year, they also receive financial assistance for treating opportunistic infections.
For children who have to pay hospital fees of VND 10 million or more once or during one year, they will receive money to cover 50%, 70% or 100% of the fees they have to pay, depending on financial difficulties they face and locations where they live.
Regarding children who are sexually abused and victims of injuries or violence, they will receive assistance worth VND 3-6 million each.
