According to the Tourism Department, Quang Ninh welcomed more than 66,000 tourist arrivals during the three-day National Day holiday (September 2-4), up 10 percent over the same period last year. Of which, the international arrivals reached over 17,000, up 30 percent. The total tourism revenue gained more than VND 130 billion, seeing a rise of 20 percent against last year.
Notably, on the peak day, around 13, 000 holiday makers flocked to the World Heritage Site Ha Long Bay, up 20 percent. All commercial centers, entertainment complexes, bars and restaurants in Ha Long city were reported to be full of tourists.
Other tourism destinations in Quang Ninh like Mong Cai city, Dong Trieu town...also drew a large number of domestic and international tourist arrivals on this occasion.
Mong Cai city received around 6,200 tourist arrivals, an increase of 37.9 percent in comparision to the same period last year, said the Culture-Sports Devision of Mong Cai city.
Not as crowed as in Ha Long and Mong Cai cities, Dong trieu town also welcomed more than 4,000 tourists to the most attractive spots, namely Ha Lan Water Park, Khe Che lake, the Tran dynasty special national relic, and Yen Duc village, etc.
Sea and Island tourism routes including Van Don and Co To are also the common choices of the tourists on this occasion. Over 5,000 tourists staying over nights in Co To island ; and 14,000 spent their nights in Van Don, Quan Lan, Minh Chau...
