Quan Lan communal house festival is opened in the middle of the 6th lunar month. According to the legend, the village festival celebrated the merit and great title which the king conferred on the village’s tutelary god who killed the Nguyen invaders in 1288. At the same time, the villagers offered sacrifices to the heaven and the gods, praying for safety when doing water-related jobs. Up to now, Quang Ninh has 5 heritages named in the list of the national intangible cultural heritage, including Then ritual of Tay ethnic people, singing in mandarin’s offices, Tien Cong Festival, Cua Ong Temple Festival and Quan Lan communal house.
